Security That Shows Up: How Tincol Security Is Building Community, One Partnership at a Time

There’s a saying that security is about more than locks and gates, it’s about trust. At Tincol Security Services, we’ve always believed that. But it wasn’t until a Saturday morning club run with the Fat Cats Athletic Club that the full meaning of that belief came to life.

What started as a simple donation of water bottles and a decision to show up turned into one of the most meaningful moments in our company’s recent history, a conversation about community, safety, and what it truly means to protect the people around you.

Fat Cats Athletic Club recently sent us a letter of appreciation that stopped us in our tracks. Not because we expected recognition, but because it reminded us exactly why we do what we do.

More Than a Donation — A Commitment to Community

When Tincol Security Services attended the Fat Cats Athletic Club run, we didn’t arrive as a sponsor looking for brand exposure. We arrived as members of the same community people who live, work, and raise families in Midrand, just like the runners on that track.

We brought water. We stayed. We talked. We listened.

And in those conversations, we heard something that resonated deeply: that community groups like Fat Cats are doing extraordinary work to build unity, discipline, and wellness among their members but that safety and security awareness are often an afterthought at public events.

That’s where we knew we could make a difference.

What the Partnership with Fat Cats Athletic Club Looks Like

The letter from Fat Cats Chairperson Komegni Noubactep outlined a vision we share wholeheartedly a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship built on community upliftment, wellness, and safety. In practical terms, here’s what that partnership is set to include:

  • Event-day security support for club runs and athletic events
  • Safety awareness initiatives for club members and the broader community
  • Ongoing engagement with grassroots sports and wellness organisations

It’s a small beginning but the most meaningful partnerships always are.

Why Community Matters to a Security Company

Security companies are often seen as reactive — we show up after something goes wrong. But at Tincol Security Services, we believe the most effective security is proactive, relational, and community-rooted.

When people know their security provider, when they’ve seen our team at their events, talked to our officers in their neighbourhoods, and felt our presence as a positive force, the relationship between community and security fundamentally changes.

Fear becomes familiarity. Suspicion becomes trust. And trust, ultimately, is the most powerful security tool there is.

The Fat Cats partnership is a living example of this philosophy. By showing up at their run, we didn’t just hydrate their athletes, we opened a door to a relationship built on respect and shared purpose.

Our Commitment Going Forward

The Fat Cats Athletic Club letter described our engagement as adding “meaningful value” to their day. That phrase has stayed with us. Because meaningful value, not just transactional service is what we want to be known for.

As we grow our footprint across Gauteng, we are committed to:

  • Partnering with community organisations who are making a positive difference
  • Investing time and resources in safety education at the grassroots level
  • Showing up not just when we’re called, but before we’re needed

To the Fat Cats Athletic Club family;

‘Thank you for the warm welcome, for your kind words, and for giving us the opportunity to be part of something bigger than a security contract. We look forward to every kilometre of this journey together’.
